Snacking Helps Teens Stay Slim

Are you afraid to have snacks throughout the day for fear of overeating or gaining weight? Well, as long as you don't snack all day long or forego regular meals for snacks, snacking can help you manage your weight, according to a new study.

In the study, it was found that teens who snacked throughout the day were less likely to be obese or overweight when compared with their 3-meal-a-day counterparts. In fact, teens who snacked 4 times a day were actually 60% less likely to be carrying around excess weight! The results were not conclusive, but the researchers suggest that as long as kids are choosing healthy snacks, there's nothing wrong with snacking.

Eating 5 or 6 times a day, according to most experts, is better than having 3 larger meals a day since those larger meals take longer to digest and leave you with more fluctuation in your blood sugar levels. In other words, snacking is actually a great idea if you want to keep your blood sugar levels more stable and your metabolism supercharged all day long!
